With Plattsbugh State producing a second-half rally, the Skidmore College women's basketball team dropped a 67-58 decision Sunday in the second game of the New York University Holiday Classic. The loss drops the Thoroughbreds to 2-7, while the Cardinals are 6-3 for the season.

After a 24-24 first half, Skidmore used a 10-3 run to open the second half with a 34-27 lead at the 15:32 mark. However, Plattsburgh responded with a 14-6 run to take a 41-40 lead. The game stayed close until the Cardinals pulled away with an 8-0 run to break it open at 61-52 with 1:28 left in the game.

Skylar Caliagaris was the lone Skidmore player in double figures with 11 points to go along with five rebounds. Angela Botiba contributed 10 rebounds, along with five points and two blocks. Dani DeGregory chipped in nine points off the bench.

The Thoroughbreds open Liberty League play at home Friday at 6 p.m. against Bard College.
